It’s nearly Christmas—by which I mean mince pies have been in the shops for weeks and the last day for guaranteed delivery from Amazon is getting worryingly close. That means that we’re being bombarded by “event” adverts.
Like homes and offices up and down the country, Gloo HQ has been abuzz with discussion about who nailed it and who missed the mark. In previous years, there’s been a lot of friendly disagreement—where the line between being touching and being schmaltzy falls is a very personal judgement. But this year, there is an overwhelming favourite.
Google’s ad for Google Assistant is a work of genius. It’s one of those bits of marketing that when you see it you immediately think, “Damn, why didn’t I think of that.” Hats off to the team behind it, we love it!
